About Us
We are a non-profit organization dedicated to serving women in various capacities. We are energized by the dedication to women of Elizabeth Cady Stanton. Elizabeth was born and inspired in Johnstown, New York. Her revolutionary thinking and ceaseless work on behalf of women helped women gain parental and custody rights, property rights, employment and income rights, divorce rights, as well as voting rights once the 19th Amendment was passed. We recognize that Elizabeth wrote some racially hurtful comments after the passage of the 15th amendment when voting rights were given to Black men but not women, and we do not support the views she expressed during this period. However, we feel that her lifetime of dedication to women’s rights is worth honoring and celebrating.
