About the event
Coline Jenkins, the great great granddaughter of Elizabeth Cady Stanton, presented Johnstown Mayor, Amy Praught, with a scale model of the Women’s Rights Pioneer Monument on Elizabeth Cady Stanton’s birthday, November 12. The monument, which was created by Meredith Bergmann for Monumental Women (momumentalwomen.org) and unveiled in Central Park in New York City in August of 2020, features Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Susan B. Anthony, and Sojourner Truth. It was the first statue of real women in Central Park.
The presentation took place at Mohawk Harvest Cooperative Market, 30 N. Main Street in Gloversville, during a lunch break from the Elizabeth Cady Stanton Hometown Association’s (ECSHA) Young Women’s Leadership Summit.
